Electronic Items Banned from Landfills
As of January 1, 2012, the Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Public Act 97-287 prohibits the disposal of e-waste (electronics) into landfills. The following electronic items are banned from landfill disposal: televisions, monitors, printers, computers (including tablet computers), electronic keyboards, facsimile machines, videocassette recorders, portable digital music players, digital video disc players, video game consoles, small scale servers, scanners, electronic mice, digital converter boxes, cable receivers, satellite receivers & digital video disc recorders. The Princeton Transfer Station located at 1530 Peggy Lane is a free drop-off location for e-waste.
