Let me be the first to welcome you to the Village of Ladd - "a great place to call home".

Incorporated in 1890, The Village of Ladd, taking its name from George D. Ladd, of Peru, Illinois, was originally a construction camp settled in 1888 by workers from railroad companies that were extending track through this area to serve a grain elevator and coal mine.

Today, the Village is home to 1,313 citizens, and is known for its fried chicken and prospering group of entrepreneurial businesses.

Whether Ladd is home to your family or to your business, our family of elected and appointed village officials and employees are poised to assure you that the needs of the people of our community are met around the clock.

We are proud of our history and we fondly remember our heritage. But just as important, we celebrate our prosperity and look forward to our exciting future!

Welcome to the Web Pages of the Village of Ladd!

Sincerely,
Mike Grivetti
Village President

UTILITY CHARGES: Electric and water meters are read electronically and billed monthly. Sewer charges are based upon water usage and are also billed montly. All customers are charged a monthly $10 water debt service fee for the Village's new well and water treatment plant. Utility bills are mailed early in the month.  If you have not received your bill by the 10th, please call the Clerk's office. Payments are due by the close of business on the due date shown on the bill. Payments received after the close of business on the due date are considered late and will be penalized.  Delinquent accounts will receive service disconnection notices.  Failure to pay by the deadline will result in the disconnection of utility service and a $50 fee will be charged for reconnection. We offer automatic debit from checking or savings accounts for utility payments, applications are available in the Clerk's office.  We do not accept credit cards at this time.

TRASH & RECYCLING: Residential trash is collected every Friday and is to be out by 5:00 am. During a week in which a holiday falls before or on our normal collection day of Friday, the day of service will be delayed until Saturday. The holidays observed are: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Each trash bag or can must weigh less than 50 pounds. Landscape waste is not allowed in the landfill and will not be collected. Brush collections are held each spring and fall along with an annual spring clean-up day and a Christmas tree collection in January. Residents are encouraged to participate in our drop-off recycling program. Bins are located at the Village Garage, 412 North Chicago Avenue. Recyclables do not need to be separated. Acceptable materials include: #1 and #2 plastics; tin, steel and aluminum cans; clear, brown and green glass; newspapers, magazines and catalogs. Each residential unit is charged a $12 monthly garbage fee.

BURNING: Outdoor burning of landscape waste is allowed from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday thru Saturday. No burning is allowed on Sunday except for leaf burning from September 15 thru November 15 only. Leaf burning is not allowed on Village streets, sidewalks or alleys.

DOG TAGS: Village dog tags are required for all dogs within the Village limits.  Tags are $2 per dog and are valid for one calendar year. New tags are available each January in the Clerk's office. This tag is in addition to the Bureau County rabies tag. Dogs are not allowed to run at-large in the Village.
